| Traditionally, Pakistanis
eat a very unbalanced diet comprising of richly
cooked foods such as Nihari, Paya, Siri, Karahi,
Chargha, and Biryani. Recent research has pointed
towards a vast increase in the incidence of heart
disease, diabetes, and renal disorders. A number
of demographic studies have attributed the increase
in diseases to poor dietary habits. Generally,
people tend to have misconceptions about health
and what constitutes healthy eating. In order
to bring about a change in dietary habits, we
need to understand the concept of a balanced diet. |
